At CrossFit Monarch Borough Parade our coaches have been hand selected to join our team. They bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise across a wide variation of fitness domains. More importantly, they reflect the very same values we hold dear.
Our coaches are passionate and driven about health and fitness. Each one has an ability to create a fun and exciting atmosphere where community can thrive, whilst recognising the needs of every individual to ensure maximum progress can be made with each and every class.
ryan white
head Coach
Ryan has an extensive background in competitive CrossFit along with many years experience in coaching.
Ryan is also the co-founder of the FST (Functional Strength Training) programme, a proven training methodology that produces incredible results! FST classes will be available exclusively out of CrossFit Monarch and led by the FST founders themselves.
With a broad wealth of knowledge to tap into, Ryan’s strength lies in his ability to provide scales, alternative movements and progressions that will have you smashing your goals in no time!
He’s a passionate coach that loves nothing more than blasting out some rock music and creating a superb atmosphere to train in.

ryan NICHOLLS
Head coach
Ryan has over 20 years of training experience, the majority having been gained through CrossFit and team sports.
Ryan’s training and coaching style draws influence from his many years of competitive team sports. He is a firm believer that training and competing with friends and peers will bring out the best in an athlete.
CrossFit became a part of Ryan’s life in 2013 when he became a member at his local box. Like most, he was instantly hooked and has since represented his box and the CrossFit community, competing at various competitions across the country.
Ryan is a Level 3 qualified Personal Trainer with a diploma in Sports Science & Nutrition and he has recently achieved his Level 1 CrossFit qualification.
Ryan is enthusiastic and fun and he cares about your fitness journey. He loves to see high energy, good work ethic, big smiles and people enjoying their training.

VERITY CLARK
Gym manager/assistant head Coach
Along with coaching a variation of classes Verity will be running the day to day aspects of CrossFit Monarch, she will be your go to person for any inquiries you might have.
Verity has a wealth of experience in numerous domains of Sports Coaching and Personal Training. Verity started training CrossFit 6 years ago and fell in love with the community, constantly varied workouts and learning new skills. She then combined this with her knowledge of Functional Strength Training and created the FST methodology alongside Coach Ryan.
Verity is constantly developing her own skills and knowledge to ensure she can deliver the very best during her classes and to her clients. You will often find Verity walking on her hands or bopping to Chase and Status in the gym!

Dec Flood
senior Coach
Dec comes from a sporting background, he has been playing competitive sports since he was a child. This lead him into a career in the fitness industry and he has now been a fitness professional for over 12 years!
Although Dec now focuses much of his time on his clients he still finds time to play Aussie rules for Chippenham town and enjoys competing in functional fitness events.
Dec has a vast amount of experience working with a huge range of individuals from different age categories, abilities and fitness backgrounds. He loves to understand the different reasons people have for training and watch them as they grow and improve on their personal fitness journeys.

JIM OFFORD
Coach
Jim served for nearly 20 years in the Armed Forces and represented the Army as an individual competitor snowboarding and as a team member of the Army hockey team.
As well as a CrossFit Level 2 trainer, Jim is qualified in various martial arts including jiu-jitsu and has fought in mixed martial arts (cage fighting) he taught and coached both whilst being deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jim has completed various endurance challenges all for charity, organising and completing 10 marathons in 5 days carrying a 20kg rucksack to still holding the fastest treadmill 100km carrying a 20kg rucksack world record. (15hrs 36secs) His efforts were acknowledged by her majesty the (late) Queen Elizabeth honours list.
You'll often find Jim teaching our ever-growing teens classes, helping the next generation on their fitness journey. He brings a fun, disciplined approach to the class, and loves to see our members going from strength to strength.

LYDIA BANWELL
Coach
Lydia has been competing in various sport since an early age. She started CrossFit when Monarch opened and fell in love with learning new skills in a safe and friendly environment.
With a level 4 Woman’s Artistic Gymnastics teacher, a Masters degree in Sports Biomechanics and a day job as a Secondary School Teacher coaching was the next natural progression.
With a passion for competition and a qualified judge Lydia will make sure you get the most out of every workout to make sure you are achieving your fitness goals.
